A linework Guanyin stands on an orange lotus, a small Buddha in her crown and an upright sword in her right hand. The caption reads I MEAN ISNESS.
Guanyin is the Chinese name of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion, and the small figure usually shown in her crown is the Buddha Amitabha. In Buddhist art a sword stands for the wisdom that cuts through ignorance. It usually belongs to Manjushri. Guanyin more often carries a willow branch, so the sword here is our choice.
